While comparing and contrasting through a critical analysis there is a need for understanding Port Maritime legislation and initiatives. The mission and agenda of homeland security is to maintain the needed safety. After the incident of 9/11, protecting the borders has become necessary. Maritime Transportation Security Act has strengthened the security of the seaport of nation with improved screening and identification of seaport personnel (Weiss & Davis, 2005).
